The Role


As Account Manager, your primary focus will be building and nurturing long-term customer relationships in the field of ophthalmology while achieving key sales metrics such as order intake, revenue growth, and market contribution.

You will act as the trusted partner for priority accounts, gaining a deep understanding of their workflows and needs. Additionally, you will:

  • Drive sales by organizing product demonstrations, installations, and customer training sessions
  • Develop and execute market and sales plans aligned with ZEISS's strategic goals
  • Manage pricing discussions, negotiations, and contracts to ensure mutual benefit and profitability
  • Identify customer needs and provide tailored solutions, leveraging your technical knowledge
  • Maintain and grow your pipeline by identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling across surgical and diagnostic product categories

Key Responsibility

  • Strategic Sales Execution: Plan and implement sales and marketing activities, ensuring alignment with ZEISS's objectives
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build lasting relationships by addressing customer needs and providing exceptional after-sales support
  • Market Insights: Monitor trends, competitors, and opportunities to strengthen ZEISS's position in the Danish market
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Nordic colleagues in sales, application, and service teams to ensure maximum customer satisfaction

You will report directly to the Head of Sales Ophthalmic Nordics, Business Group Medical Technology.

Your Profile


The ideal candidate should be able to recognize and bring some of the following:

  • Education as Optometrist, Ophthalmic nurse or a Bachelor of economics or engineering
  • A minimum of 3 years on medical device sales or working at ophthalmic institute/clinic as optometrist or nurse
  • Specific knowledge within Cataract surgery, retinal surgery, refractive surgery, glaucoma management or practice development consulting would be a plus
  • Experience in capital equipment sales or healthcare-related industries
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Danish

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • A proactive, self-motivated mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Structured and well organized
  • Able to prioritize the daily work and having a strong interest in the product area
  • Self-driving and eager to obtain success

You will work from your home office in close corporation with the Danish HQ in Birkerød and ZEISS office in Nørresundby.
