Senior Regulatory Affairs

TotalEnergies is looking for a Senior Regulatory Affairs to help shape and strengthen regulatory affairs across our Danish offshore energy activities. In this role, you will be a key partner to authorities, internal stakeholders, partners, and contractors, ensuring regulatory compliance while supporting strategic business objectives.
With base in Esbjerg you will work closely with the Head of Regulatory Affairs and play a central role in developing governance frameworks, processes, risk-management structures, and digital tools that support consistent and transparent regulatory operations across the business.
Your Responsibilities as Senior Regulatory Affairs
- Represent TotalEnergies EP Danmark’s (TEPDK) interests in strategic and operational dialogue with regulatory authorities, industry stakeholders, partners, and contractors.
- Act as a key interface between internal functions including Field Operations, Projects, HSE, Technical Services, Commercial, Legal, and relevant external stakeholders.
- Drive permitting and license-handling strategies, including license extensions, consultation responses, freedom of information requests, and other regulatory communications.
- Monitor legislative developments, regulatory changes, and public consultations relevant to TEPDK and translate requirements into actionable business guidance.
- Develop and maintain key regulatory processes and digital tools, including obligation registers, quality assurance and control frameworks, document management systems, process maps, and risk-management models.
- Support regulatory governance across joint venture partnerships, infrastructure owners, contractors, and TotalEnergies Group interfaces.
- Provide regulatory advisory support to operational teams and ensure alignment between management systems, regulatory requirements, and ALARP principles.
- Promote regulatory excellence, compliance, knowledge sharing, safety culture, and continuous improvement across the organization.
Your Qualifications
We imagine you have several years of experience working within regulatory affairs, compliance, public affairs, legal, or a related discipline. You have an understanding of Danish regulatory frameworks and experience navigating complex stakeholder environments.
Furthermore, you can recognize yourself in the following:
- Relevant degree within law, engineering, political science, public administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Ability to interpret legislation independently and translate requirements into practical business solutions.
- Experience balancing regulatory requirements with commercial, contractual, and operational objectives.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across internal and external interfaces.
- Strong influencing skills and the ability to work effectively across functions without formal authority.
- Fluency in Danish and English, both written and spoken.
It is an advantage if you also bring
- Understanding of Danish regulatory frameworks relevant to offshore energy operations is an advantage but not a requirement.
- Experience working with regulatory authorities such as the Danish Energy Agency, Danish Working Environment Authority, Danish Environmental Protection Agency, or similar institutions is an advantage but no requirement.
- Experience designing governance models, compliance frameworks, or risk-management systems.
- Experience developing digital tools, registers, or structured regulatory processes.
- Knowledge of permitting, licensing, public consultation processes, and freedom of information obligations.
- Experience from the energy sector, infrastructure projects, or similarly regulated industries.
- A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build new ways of working.
