Graphic Designer & Event Coordinator to Axlab
Do you have a strong eye for design, and do you enjoy turning creative ideas into tangible experiences?
In collaboration with Actief Hartmanns, Axlab is looking for a Graphic Designer & Event Coordinator who wants to play a key role in shaping and strengthening our visual identity.
This is a newly created position where you will have the opportunity to make a real impact. You will be responsible for developing visual content across digital, print, and event channels while helping bring the Axlab brand to life through trade shows, conferences, and other customer-facing activities. Essential to this role are a proven track record and interest in design execution.
You will join a dynamic Marcom team that is responsible for building Axlab into the most recognized brand for bringing innovation and automation to pathology laboratories.
The role is primarily focused on graphic design, which will account for approximately 70% of your time. The remaining 30% will involve coordinating and supporting events in close collaboration with colleagues and external partners.
The role
The Graphic Designer & Event Coordinator is responsible for leading creative direction, executing graphic design, and ensuring the quality of all visual assets across digital, print, and event media. The role will bring Axlab’s graphic design capability fully in-house for the first time, owning the brand’s visual identity, building scalable asset libraries, and co-creating with external agencies where needed. Alongside design, this person works closely with the Events & Digital Platforms Manager on delivering standout experiences at trade shows, conferences, and hosted events. This role will also spend up to 30% of the time on event coordination, so there must be an interest in working on event execution.
Your responsibilities:
Graphic Design
- Contribute to creative strategy and visual concepts.
- Apply the CVI and ensure consistent brand evolution and strategy while adapting visuals to meet campaign objectives and country differences, where needed.
- Design creative assets for campaigns, events, and country requests across digital and print channels.
- Design based on knowledge of customer segmentation, journey mapping, and value proposition frameworks.
- Work with agencies, the CMO, and the Director, Marcom to evolve the brand and marketing materials, as needed.
- Create asset libraries to support scalability and efficiency.
- Maintain updated files across our systems.
- Use relevant AI and digital design tools to improve creativity, efficiency, and workflows.
Event Coordination
- Planning & logistics: managing the end-to-end event timeline from brief to debrief, coordinating booth/space bookings, A/V, catering, and floor logistics. For trade shows specifically: managing exhibit builds, shipping, and setup/teardown.
- Vendor & supplier management: sourcing and briefing vendors (printers, fabricators, AV, promotional items), negotiating contracts, and holding suppliers accountable for timelines and budgets.
- Budget tracking: tracking spending against actuals, reconciling invoices post-event.
- Marketing & materials coordination: create and deliver event assets on time (signage, collateral, giveaways, digital screens, presentations).
- Stakeholder coordination: Work with Events & Digital Platforms Manager on aligning internal teams (sales, product, marcom) on event goals, speaker/demo needs, and who's attending from the company.
- Post-event reporting: capturing leads, attendance metrics, and ROI data; documenting lessons learned for next time.
The primary working language for this role is English, but Danish is a plus. The candidate should expect to travel up to 30% during certain periods.
What we are looking for
We are looking for a creative and proactive designer who enjoys turning ideas into clear and engaging visual communication.
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or another relevant design field
- 3-5 years of graphic design experience (healthcare industry or other regulated industry, or marketing agency experience preferred)
- Design Expertise: Strong understanding of composition, color, hierarchy, and design best practices, along with a portfolio showcasing diverse projects across digital and print formats.
- Technical Proficiency: Mastery of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Experience with AI design tools is a plus.
- Brand Stewardship: Proven ability to apply and assist in the evolution of a Corporate Visual Identity, maintaining consistency across a wide range of asset types while allowing for project-level creative flexibility.
- Commercial & Business Mindset: Understanding of marketing goals, customer value propositions, and how visual design supports pipeline, brand awareness, and commercial objectives.
- Openness to Event Execution (required): Genuine interest in spending up to 30% of the time on event coordination, including hands-on execution, occasional travel, and learning new processes and tools on the job.
A role with both creativity and impact
This is an opportunity to make a visible impact. You will be the first dedicated graphic design resource in-house and will therefore have considerable influence over how we develop and manage our visual identity.
You will combine creative freedom with ownership and structure, working across various projects and collaborating with colleagues, suppliers, and agencies.
The role also offers the opportunity to develop your skills beyond traditional graphic design, particularly within event execution, project coordination, digital tools, and AI-supported creative workflows.
