All factors must be taken into account. It is not just about the actual process, but also about attitudes and actions \u2013 something we can refer to as \u201cculture\u201d.<\/p>\n<h2>Preparation, preparation and more preparation!<\/h2>\n<p>Lay-offs, however many, are a huge intervention in people\u2019s lives and a company\u2019s culture. The better prepared we are for the task, the more valuably it will proceed for everyone involved, and the more easily both the company and the affected employees will move on.<\/p>\n<h2>We are involved before, during and after<\/h2>\n<p>We have many years of experience of advising and training executives, mid-level managers, shop stewards and HR on the subject of lay-offs.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/article>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"article-background\">\n\t<article class=\"cs-banner-overlapping-section container px-0 node node--type-cs-banner-overlapping node--view-mode-full layout--style--style2\">\n\t\t<div class=\"node__content\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"banner-overlapping__column\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"banner-overlapping__media\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/actief-hartmanns.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/banner-mand-taler-til-moede_0.png\">\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"banner-overlapping__text\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4>We contribute with counselling and training:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>BEFORE<\/strong>: Planning the process, internal and external communication plans, negotiation with employee representatives, mapping of stakeholders, training of managers etc.<\/li>\n<li><strong>DURING<\/strong>: Presence on site, debriefing of managers and employees etc.<\/li>\n<li><strong>AFTER<\/strong>: Communication within and outside the organisation, plans and activities for the organisation\u2019s progress, development of the mental health environment etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/article>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"cs-text-section article-background\">\n\t<article class=\"node node--type-cs-text node--view-mode-full node--columns--1\">\n\t\t<div class=\"node__content\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"text__column\">\n\t\t\t\t<h1>Often dismissed employee goes through several stages<\/h1>\n<p>We know that a lay-off round can be rough on the dismissed employees. Everyone reacts differently. Most people goes through the three stages below here, when they have been given a notice.<\/p>\n<h2>Shock-stage<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Minutes\/days<\/li>\n<li>Disregard, calm &amp; composed (under the surface there might be chaos), denial, anger, crying, breakdown, apathy, hyperactivity, panic, clingy behaviour, laughing. Difficulty in taking in and processing impressions, traditional problem-solving strategies are disabled. Memory troubles. Physical symptoms: vomiting, dizziness, shaking, palpitation etc.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Basis-intervention:<\/strong> Listening\/\u201dcontainer\u201d, to secure connection to one\u2019s private network, repeat, follow-up, directive, make a plan, write it down.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Reaction-stage<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Weeks\/months<\/li>\n<li>Beginning realisation, chaos of feelings, outbursts of feelings, guilt, anxiety, grief, psychosomatic reactions, isolation, desperate actions, hope, happiness, confusion.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Basis-intervention:<\/strong> \u201cActing as bin\u201d, psychoeducation thoughts-feelings-behaviour-body (cognitive triangle), involving relatives and possibly employer, research exception &amp; mastering. Restructuring of negative automatic thoughts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Processing- and repurpose-stage<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Adapting to a new life situation, a realistic attitude towards what happened, establishment and development of relations, the grief eases, mastering experiences, hope for the future, act upon wishes for the future.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Basis-intervention:<\/strong> Support of hopes, investigate successful experiences, create motivation, support at relapses. Explorative approach, solution-focused methods.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Prior to lay-offs it is a good idea for the management team to ask themselves the following questions:<\/h2>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/article>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"article-background\">\n\t<article class=\"cs-banner-overlapping-section container px-0 node node--type-cs-banner-overlapping node--view-mode-full layout--style--style2\">\n\t\t<div class=\"node__content\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"banner-overlapping__column\">\n\t\t\t\t<div
